This Nike Air Max 97 Plus is probably the sneaker Johnny Storm (The Human Torch) would rock.
Nike has been in a hybrid frenzy these last few months; the brand has released models like the Air VaporMax 97 and Air Max 90/1, and now, the latest is this Air Max 97 tooling that rides beneath the upper of the Air Max Plus (once know as the Tuned Air).
This Air Max 97 Plus features Max Air branding at the heel — instead of the usual Tn for Tuned Air — so expect a full-length cushioning setup (although many say the Air Max 97 tooling is pretty firm). The sneaker sports a patent leather mudguard with red hot flames (support tendrils) that rise up from it.
The Nike Air Max 97 Plus will retail for $175 ($5 more than the Air Max 97) and release via Nike SNKRS on May 25.
