If you were excited at the thought of Primeknit coming to the regular version of the adidas D Lillard 2, but less than impressed with the colorway, then you should enjoy the ‘PDX Carpet’.
This is the adidas D Lillard 2 ‘PDX Carpet’, and while it’s not the first time we’ve seen these, this is the first time we have official confirmation from adidas Hoops about the materials used. Grey Primeknit was the primary material option for these guys, along with the synthetic suede and mesh medial panel. You can clearly see the PDX Carpet graphic through the translucent outsole, and this rendition of the carpet theme was executed much better than the D Lillard 1 which featured a not-so-subtle PDX Carpet graphic applied to the entire upper of the shoe.
An official word from adidas on the D Lillard 2 ‘PDX Carpet’:
The latest D Lillard 2 features white and gray Primeknit threads, red accents and all-white bootie construction paired with matching Oak Print lace locks, heel counter and midsole. The silhouette is designed with light teal hits on the laces, mesh panels and heel tab that pay homage to Portland International Airport’s iconic carpet print displayed on the iced outsole.
Dame will lace up the PDX Carpet edition as he travels to Asia during the adidas Take on Summer tour. He’ll join fans at basketball demonstrations and games, in-store appearances and more. Take on Summer tips-off today in Beijing and continues through June 14 with additional stops in Chengdu (June 11-12), Taipei (June 13) and Manila (June 14).
“This season was truly special for our team and the city of Portland. We believe in what we’re building but we still have work to do. The summer is a chance to focus on mind and body, get back to the gym and stay ready for next year,” Dame said. “I’m also looking forward to training with our fans across the world. It truly is an honor to do something like this with adidas and all the fans involved.”
If you were interested in grabbing a pair then mark your calendars for July 1 and make sure you have $120 handy. Yes, the price was increased a little, but for what it’s worth, the tooling on these is far greater than the adidas D Lillard 2 Boost.
