My go to shoe is always in my gym bag, just in case whatever shoes I’m testing are too uncomfortable or simply put… suck. That shoe USED to be the Kobe VI… these have simply blown them out of the water, in ALL areas!
Traction on the Air Jordan 2011 was decent at best… I personally feel it was maybe a 6 or 7 tops out of 10. The Fly Wade used a different translucent rubber which was MUCH better once they were broken in. The Jordan 2011 Q Flight completely obliterated both of them… and they all use the SAME traction pattern. The solid rubber outsole made all the difference in the world and if you are in the market to purchase either of the three aforementioned sneakers to hoop in… look for a pair that utilizes solid rubber outsoles, if you cant find any in store I would go and make a pair on NikeiD… trust me, having solid rubber outsoles alone is worth the price you’d pay.
Material, depending on the colorway, is going to take a beating. Not too sure how long they’ll last but at the retail price they go for, I may just end up buying a few more pairs to have as backup. The only other performance shoe I have multiple pairs of is the Kobe IV, and that’s it. If a performance shoe makes me want to stock up on them then that means I highly recommend the product.
Lockdown and fit has been much improved on the Q Flight when compared to the Jordan 2011… not so much the Fly Wade as they both are great. I do personally favor the Q Flight because of its lower cut, I’m a sucker for good low tops that I can hoop in. The collar shape and material are better than the Jordan 2011 hands down (collar area only). With the additional lace loop you can customize the heels fit, I chose to use the second loop as I felt it provided me greater lockdown than the first one.
Okay, unlike the Hyperdunk 2011 teaser prior to this one, I will not give too much info out just yet. I will say that after the first run in these… I am truly in love with them. For those of you wondering, I chose to wear these in my league game tonight which is risky since I didn’t know how they’d perform. At the end of the night I ended up having 14 pts (1 FG and 4 3PT) and 2 rebounds while playing the entire game other than halftime… very happy with that… and we got the win!
