As a campaign to overcome cultural and language barriers, adidas has never been shy about consortiums with international fashion brands. This time around, adidas is teaming up with New Jersey’s Packer Shoes and Berlin’s Solebox to create aesthetic magic.
The two-part release draws inspiration from the Silfra Rift, a point on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. The sneakers are done in a variation of blue hues as visual concepts that offer visible tonal differences on each silhouette.
The pack features an UltraBoost Mid with a deep water dark blue to mimic the deep ocean basin, while the Energy Boost features a layering of a lighter blue and grey to enhance the aquatic gradient.
According to END, the shoes flaunt real-time data: the depth chart lines of the shelf can be found on the grosgrain stripe detailing while the precise coordinates of each store’s location are imprinted on both models. Interestingly, both shops have used each other’s typeface for branding.
Look for the pack to launch on November 4 at Packer and Solebox, and November 11 at END, but pricing information is not yet available. Stay tuned to WearTesters for more.
