Larry O’Brien, a Nike exec (and not to be mistaken for the late former NBA commissioner), has joined the ranks at OrthoLite. If you have worn your share of sneakers at any point after the late ’90s, it’s highly likely that you have experienced OrthoLite’s insole technology. The “world’s leading supplier of open-cell foam insole technology” has just added a major player as its new Key Account Sales Manager: Larry O’Brien.

O’Brien joins OrthoLite after a 27-year tenure with Nike, most recently as a Senior Product Training Specialist in the Product Development realm. O’Brien began as a store manager with Nike and worked his way into an executive position. Now, he has the opportunity to help OrthoLite strengthen its relationship with Nike even further, and he will be based at OthoLite’s Portland sales office.

“We are thrilled to have Larry join our sales team,” said C.B. Tuite, SVP of sales and marketing at OrthoLite, in a statement. “His relationships at Nike, both in the U.S. and Asia, combined with an extensive product development background will add tremendous value to our leadership positioning in the athletic category and also reinforce our collaborative role with each of our valued brand partners.”

It will be interesting to see how this jump from the Swoosh to OrthoLite will effect all of the other brands that partner with Ortholite. Regardless, we wish Larry the best of luck on his new role and look forward to what is in store.

  1. How can you get the different types of insoles they have? Going to the official website only offeres the Fusion insole.

  2. I don’t think you can buy any of their other insoles as I tried looking a few years ago, but it seems like they only sell the ‘Fusion’ ones to the general public. The Fusion ones aren’t that great, as in, they haven’t gotten the best reviews, so I never ended up buying a pair.
