Official Tech Specs and U.S. Release Date for the adidas Crazy Explosive 17

adidas crazy explosive 17 official 1

The adidas Crazy Explosive 17 has already debuted overseas in a few colorways but we’ll have to wait another month before it lands Stateside.

Retaining what made the original Crazy Explosive great, adidas hasn’t really altered the formula with the new 2017 version. The shoe still sits atop full-length Boost cushioning that is wrapped with a lateral TPU roll cage, and retains the infinity shank and coral traction pattern from the previous build.

However, adidas is introducing Forged Primeknit on the Crazy Explosive 17. The shoe utilizes a single-piece upper that is designed with target zones of support and reinforcement. The Forged Primeknit also creates the elevated wave pattern on the upper. The GeoFit bootie has been removed and replaced with a lightweight sock-like collar that features cushioning at the ankle and tongue.

The adidas Crazy Explosive 17 drops July 27 at adidas.com in two Primeknit colorways — Crystal White and Solar Yellow — for $150. More colorways will come throughout the year, and the shoe will hit the NBA hardwood on the feet of Andrew Wiggins, Kristaps Porzingis, Eric Gordon, and Justise Winslow.

ID4shoes already has both colorways of the adidas Crazy Explosive 17 Primeknit available now.

Will you be picking up the latest Crazy Explosive 17 when it lands Stateside in a month? Are the updates enough to make you upgrade from the original Crazy Explosive? Let us know.

  1. Not excited about the integrate sock, but the rest of the shoe looks and sounds great. I’ll wait for the lows (hopefully release earlier this year) or get the non-PK mids which look good too.

  2. That integrated sock kind of limits the appeal to performance only imo. Unneeded and adds weight/cost/complexity. Why?

    1. Don’t worry about the sock, the outsole will be worn out before anything happens to this useless sock. ??
But for real Non-Primeknit is definetly the way to go with this release. Good thing is they will be cheaper too.

  3. Im kinda tempted to get one and cut the sock off. Thats probably gonna fuck up the fit and lockdown though
