NikeLab Fuses Sportswear Models to Create the Nike Free Huarache Carnivore

NikeLab is back at it again with a new fusion sneaker of retro swoosh kicks with the Nike Free Huarache Carnivore.

The name says it all; the shoe combines the Nike Air Huarache runner from 1991 and the Nike Air Carnivore hoops kick that originally released in 1993. The shoe incorporates the bootie from the Huarache and the straps from the Carnivore. Interesting enough, both of these sneakers didn’t have much visible swoosh branding and that seems to have transferred onto this fusion model. The overall shape of the sneaker is similar to the Free Run. Of course, the Air encapsulated midsoles from those before-mentioned sneakers do get replaced by a 5.0 Nike Free sole, allowing for flexibility.

If you’ve ever graced your eyes on the Carnivore, you’ll know how monstrously ugly the silhouette is (hence the name.) It’s interesting that they took the cool elements (the straps) and incorporated it onto the Huarache Carnivore. Adding premium leather also adds to the appeal of the new silhouette.

Both the black and white colorways of the NikeLab Free Huarache Carnivore will release on Friday, June 19 at NikeLab retailers and on NikeLab.com.
