Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2012 Deconstructed

When I breakdown a sneaker, two things happen. First thing is those who support show their support – this is always appreciated. Second thing that happens is the know-it-all’s and haters come out and tell me everything I said wrong.

Why would someone even tell me that what I stated was incorrect you ask? Well, it’s simple… because Nike, Eastbay, Finish Line or some other online retail site said I was wrong… that’s why.

Nike.com states that the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2012 has heel and forefoot Zoom Air… I said that it didn’t and people insisted that I was incorrect… this sort of proves that I wasn’t crazy. Am I always 100% correct about everything? Hell no, and I will be the first to admit it. However, I’ll only say something because I believe in it. I’m always up to learn something new but if you say flat out that someone is wrong because an inaccurate tech description says something other than what I – or anyone else – says then you aren’t being very open minded.

With that being said… just enjoy the Performance Reviews and 99.9% accurate information for what it is. The reviews are here to help you make a sound decision… nothing more, nothing less.

Oh, and enjoy seeing this pair of Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2012’s deconstructed as well.

  1. Keep doing what you do Nightwing. Some people may bash you but you’ve got tons of supporters who have your back!

  2. Thank you and respect. People believe EVERYTHING that they read on one website and tell EVERYONE else that they’re wrong. I just don’t get it. In any case, doing research is key and the answers can usually be found if people are just willing to look hard enough. I found 4 places that confirmed that there was no zoom bag in the heel with pictures and all and still had people tell me that there was. SMH. Long rant but I just wanted to say that piece and also that I am on this site at least 2-3 time daily. Keep up the good work. Appreciated.

  3. Only you…Would do this. Good Stuff! 🙂 Trust your brain. Interesting never the less. This field of study, ie internet commenters, ( especially this subject matter) are not usually the most well informed, able to process information correctly or otherwise and immature in theIr developmental process. Social graces take a back seat as well. But I do enjoy listening to and reading your reactions to the aforementioned.

    1. He didn’t even do this you idiot. If you actually read, he is just re-posting this. And also, the vocabulary thing.

  4. thanks for sharing this, I was kinda on the fence about whether it did or not, is this also true for the 2011 model? I work at a shoe store so I gotta get my facts straight when I help customers 😛

Keep up your great work. Appreciate it.

  5. I am not shocked that Nike would lie about what is actually in their product. For the price of the hyperfuse, both heel and forefoot zoom air is a reasonable request.

  6. Wow, I’m glad i didnt purchase these… Jesus… i thought they also put heel zoom units in these. Such liars!! SMDH

  7. It’s funny how nike makes so many products but don’t know everything about them. And they say your wrong just becaue they work for the company that made therefore making you think you are wrong. It’s like having a lot of kids and not knowing everything about them

  8. i got my zoom unit from an old nike zoom shoes, but i only cut the cloth covering the midsole, so the shoe still looks spotless.

  9. HELL Yeah !!! We need more Chop Shop!! There’s a gang of misinformation on kix. Do What you Do NDub, Grown Men can agree to disagree – Keep up doing the Honest reviews.

  10. I can’t watch other shoe reviews anymore. Those guys rarely know what they’re talking about. Your reviews are entertaining and educational.
    Keep up the good work.

  11. Hey Nightwing, i hope u dnt mind me askin but how do u get a hold of all these sneakers??? like where do u get all the cash fr them???
P.S i agree with u, the zoom units r practically non existant in these

  12. what a waste of a good shoe just to be brutalize in such a way. but then again, the brute probably got these cheap since the article is from a chinese site. still, a waste.

I’ll keep an open mind on these considering that there had been some variations on shoe designs as well, especially the retro or old ones that had been re-released. from what I read, certain shoe models have XDR outsoles, and some have only forefront zoom and some have full-length. I’m not talking about the hyperfuses but Nike shoes in generally. I’m not sure if this was done to appeal a certain regional market or cost-cutting as well. but I think Nike has an obligation to clarify some of their products as well and modifications made as this can be also treated as false advertising, especially if people believe in the product that they are getting. maybe a simple lawsuit would make them realize this and do a better job.

  13. Bought my 2 bball shoes based on your reviews and everything seems accurate. Fit, size, traction, shoes in-depth details… of course, retails will hate you, its Business. its like a journalist against Politicians lol

  14. I love it when ppl do this. goes to show just how often nike lies about their products. its kind of outrageous they can get away w/ scamming customers constantly.

  15. YOU ARE THE MAN CHRIS U GOT TONS OF PEOPLE BEHIND YOU BACK, BUT NO OFFENSE YOU GOT TO ADMIT IT WAS KIND OF STUPID TO TAKE APART A PERFECTLY GOOD SHOE BUT ITS YOUR DECISION NOT MINE. LOL

  16. Hey im new o your site and i just came to say keep up the good work!, your reviews really influence my purchases and i look forward to all of them

  17. This disection is from a Chinese website, and there was case that Nike sold the same sneaker with different setup in China before…Not saying you’re wrong, but there is chance that the hyperfuse in the website may not be the same as what you got in the US.

  18. i’ve learned never to make a judgement on whats inside a shoe until its in my hands, nike and other websites tech specs are often wildly innacurate. bad day when they cant even match up website info with what they put in their own products!!

  19. hey wasup nightwing, yea i really liked how the hyperfuses looked, and they felt ok to play in; But i couldnt find your review till now. And i was looking for it for awhile. And it kinda shocked me that their wasn’t any zoom unit in the heel. But i’m glad i know now. I still liked how the shoe looked and felt with the lockdown and the grip was good and i played ok in them, and had no problems with it, just some rubbing on top by the laces. I was just a bit dissapointed it didn’t make it to the videos but thats cool.
