The Nike Kobe X ‘Silk’ gets an official look, release info, and unveils the story behind the colorway.
This is a pair some people might need to see in person… and by some people I mean me. Visually, I love the deep burgundy and gold hits, but the orange… not sure about the orange. Every Kobe X colorway has looked surprisingly better in person than they have in images, so maybe the same will be said for the ‘Silk’ colorway… or maybe not. Who knows.
Check out the official information on the shoe below, and be sure to share your performance thoughts on the shoe – if you’ve tried them – as well.
Kobe Bryant spent his childhood years in Italy and has enjoyed traveling throughout Greater China as an adult. His connections to both the European and Asian continents led Nike designers to think about the legendary Silk Road, the inspiration for the new KOBE X Silk shoe.
From as early as 210 B.C. to 1453 A.D., the 4,000-mile Silk Road operated as a trade route between Europe and Asia. Designers drew inspiration for the latest version of Bryant’s 10th signature style from 1st century silk tapestries that often were designed in orange and burgundy motifs.
The KOBE X Silk will be available globally at nike.com and select retail locations on March 21.
