Kobe Bryant has long been the commander of the Lakers and his admiration of naval commanders inspires this Kobe X Elite colorway.
This is particularly evident on the tongue logo, which looks a lot like the commander logo for the United States Pacific Fleet that is stationed in Hawaii. The rest of the colors on the shoe follows suit, with the globe colors of blue and green surrounding a black Flyknit upper.
That upper provides a sock-like fit, while Lunarlon cushioning in the forefoot provides the responsiveness needed to get ahead. The soft cushioning is also notched to provide flexibility like that seen on the Nike Free Run. The heel cushioning features a visible Zoom Air unit for a bouncy feel when landing.
