Nike Kobe 1 Protro ‘USA’ to Release in 2018, With Minor Changes

Another original colorway from Kobe Bryant’s original Nike Kobe 1 series is set to make a return in Kobe 1 Protro form.

Released in 2006, the ‘USA’ edition of the Nike Kobe 1 is making a return. While the retro looks practically identical to the original, this version of the Kobe 1 Protro sports a mix of leather and nubuck in old fashion red, white, and blue.

One big difference between the 2018 version and its 2006 counterpart is that the U.S. flag is missing on the heel panel. Instead, we have the “Uptempo” branding that we’ve seen on the other OG colorways and Protro versions.

No release date is official as of now, but stay tuned for updates. With official images of the shoe leaking we shouldn’t be too far off from a release date.

  1. I still have my OG pair and there is no USA flag on the heel. The pics above are exactly how the OG retail pairs were. It does say Japan 2006 on the inside top of the tongue.
