Nike KD Trey 5 IV – New Colorways Are Spotted

Kd Trey 5 IV.1
Kd Trey 5 IV White/Black

WearTesters.com gave you, the audience, the first look at the KD Trey 5 IV (please make that easier Nike), just a few weeks ago, but the only images available were of the upper. Now we get images of the complete shoe and one thing is obvious: if you liked the Nike KD Trey 5 III, you will like the Nike KD Trey 5 IV, or so it would seem.

Using the same tooling, at least form a traction standpoint, and what looks like the same rectangle Zoom in the forefoot, Nike aims for the playground summer crowd again because, as we know, “Summer is Serious.” No word on pricing yet, but based on the technology and materials, and the fact they are almost identical to last year’s model, it should be in the $110-$120 range (although the signature KD9 price drop may affect that as well).

As soon as those details are released, like always, WearTesters will be on it. Until then, enjoy, or not, and let us know what you think below.

  1. I would’ve liked to have seen them keep the Pro Leather/Pro Model type look, this is just the generic budget-model look, which really makes the shoe look cheap.

  2. 1. why are the trey’s mid tops again?
    2. should may be even below $100. KD sigs are 150, and CLB’s are at 120.

    1. Yeah, takedowns should be $100 or below. The Mentality is doing it right. These, though: $120 for puny, thin rectangle credit card zoom. No thanks. I’m done with that setup. There are so much better cushioning options on the market for equal or less price.

      1. I’m done with that setup too. Thank goodness for all these other brands that are now in the game that offer better cushioning for similar prices. Nike can keep their cheap a$$ setups to themselves now. I’m not even interested in a lot of their newer setups either if not done right. If they don’t want to do Zoom Air right in some models, I won’t be going near them. That goes for both their high end models and their lower end models.

  3. I’m really not a fan of this tooling re-use thing going on. I thought I was going to just stop at the AJ30.

The price gap between these and the KD9’s doesn’t seem like enough to make me think these are at a desirable price point. When both go on sale, I’m pretty sure most people will be saying and getting excited over the perception “whoa the KD9’s got cheap!” as opposed to “The Trey’s got cheaper!”
