With the unveiling of theNike Basketball 2016 All-Star collection this Firday, WearTesters was lucky enough to have been invited by Nike to come and check out their latest lineup up close and personal.
Canadian-red upper, maple-inspired gum outsole and leaf basketball logo
NIKE AIR AUDACITY
Anthony Davis PE – Heathered textile upper and an embroidered crest detail on the tongue. The materials utilized along the midfoot, synthetic leather heel and the outsole traction is really star of the shoe.
Nike Kobe 11 Elite
Kobe Bryant PE – A sleek black upper with a glowing green pop is a nod to the luminescence of the Northern Lights. Unique molded leather detailing on the heel and tongue gives the KOBE 11 new dimensionality. The heel design along with the marbled outsole to accent the Northern Lights concept is really well done, especially the wavy heel counter was really a nice touch.
Nike KD 8
Kevin Durant PE – Modern blocking, inspired by the classic look of flags spotted throughout Toronto that represent the city’s internationalism, brings a fresh graphic twist to the KD8’s Flyweave upper. Removable patches adorn the heel and tongue, and a white and light blue marble graphic, which references Toronto’s icy winter weather, decorates the outsole. The translucent mix with direct white color block outsole really stood out along with the intricate designs of the upper.
Nike Lebron 13
Lebron James PE – Grey-green upper — reminiscent of the neutral tones of Toronto’s winter — with graphic blocking. An icy, marbled effect covers the outsole heels of James’s game shoe while pins honor the player’s on-court triumphs. The color block on the shoe in person doesn’t do it justice. The color really pops off in natural light and additional accent along the tongue really was executed flawlessly.
Thank you, again, to the good folks over at Nike Basketball for the invite. Not only for myself, the WearTesters team, but most importantly, for our readers. The experience was priceless to share and hopefully there will be many more to come. When you think there is no more left in you, Remember to “Just Do It”.
