The Nike Air MAX2 Uptempo Gets a U.S. Release Date

’90s babies stand up!

Another Nike Basketball classic from the ’90s is returning. This time, it’s the Nike Air MAX2 Uptempo in an era-friendly black and white colorway.

Before brands started putting 100+ colors on a single colorway, sneakers came in a few options: black/white, white/black, and black/white/team color (usually red).

The latest release of the Air MAX 2 Uptempo sports the classic white/black color scheme that just screams the ’90s. It also checks off a couple of other design elements made famous in that era like the bulky design, outdoor-friendly traction, maximum branding, and a 180-degree visible Air unit in the heel.

If you’re feeling nostalgic or just like the way these look, they’ll be available on August 1 for $140.

  1. Is it me, or were Air Max bubbles bigger back in the day? I kinda remember them sticking out a little from the midsole.

    1. they were indeed longer back then, I’m debating between these and the CB Suns Colorway but leaning towards these more due to a more pleasing design aesthetics. however, with the Adidas sales going on, I might lean towards the Xplosive 2017 instead.
