Tonight, the newest Under Armour Brand House was opened in the Westchester Mall. The opening festivities included 25% off coupons for everyone in attendance, a photo booth with props like basketballs, lacrosse sticks, and all manner of helmets, and a guest appearance by Mark Herzlich, linebacker for the NY Giants. He signed autographs and shook hands while champagne flowed for everyone that walked into the store. Sounds were supplied by a lovely DJ from HOT97.
The brand new, sprawling Under Armour location sits directly beneath a Nike Store in the Westchester Mall, something I don’t believe is a coincidence, as the UA slogan “I Will” is a direct response to Nike’s “Just Do It.” The store officially opened when all the store’s team members ran out of the closed off store and did some sort of…chant. I’ve included a video of it below (I apologize for the quality, I wanted it uploaded fast).
While watching the crowds in attendance, I couldn’t help but see so many smiles and interested faces. People have really taken to Under Armour in the past months. Under Armour brought what many were looking for; full size runs of the Curry One Low ‘Home’ and ‘Panthers’, as well as a full size run of the Curry One ‘Father to Son’. Needless to say, many grabbed their sizes and lined up to buy pairs. UA also stocked tons of outdoor models I’d never seen before. Unfortunately, the Under Armour Fat Tire was not up on the wall.
I was covering the event live on the WearTesters Twitter so I’ve included some of that content here. Check out the gallery of images below and let me know if you’ll be heading into the new store anytime soon.
