The Nike Air Force 1, one of the most iconic shoes to ever hit the hardwood — yes they hit the hardwood — is continuing to evolve. Today, Nike introduced the latest version of the Nike Air Force 1: the Special Field Air Force 1.
The Special Field Air Force 1 (SF AF-1 for short) combines two of Nike’s most iconic shoes for winter weather: The Nike Special Field Boot and Nike Air Force 1. The Special Field Air Force 1 uses premium leather throughout the forefoot and midfoot sections of the upper. For added durability, the heel and ankle collar areas are made up of rip stop ballistic nylon. Each of the SF AF-1s feature newly designed adjustable straps as well.
The Special Field Air Force 1 wouldn’t be complete without the iconic Air Force 1 midsole and outsole combination either. Underneath your foot is Nike Air encased in the non-marking rubber outsole. “Air” can be seen on the lateral side of each shoe. The iconic Air Force 1 outsole pattern, with pivot points placed in the forefoot and heel, is retained on this new configuration.
The SF AF-1 is set to release in two men’s colorways (Faded Olive/Gum and Black/Gum) and two women’s colorways (Light Bone/Sail and Golden Beige/Linen) on November 5 via the Nike SNKRS app and select Nike retailers. There is a uni-sex colorway (white/white) that will release exclusively on November 5 and 6 at Complex Con.
