New Balance is pre-releasing their newest runner, the New Balance Fresh Foam Zante NYC. The shoe moves New Balance more in the direction of woven/knit uppers with a sock-like build atop a next-gen Fresh Foam midsole. The new shoe boasts a fast transition from heel to toe, due to the way the upper fits as well as the toe spring. The tongue is also attached to the shoe, removing the horrible problem of tongues that slide down to either side of the foot.
The shoe will also bring many New Balance-sponsored New York festivities, including a Fresh Foam Zante NYC shoe truck that will be painted live by graffiti artists. The truck will not only be selling the Fresh Foam Zante NYC, it will be accepting the shoes on buyers’ feet for donation. The truck will be located on 52nd Street between 6th and 7th Avenues on Friday October 31 from 8AM to 5PM.
This release is a limited pre-release for the “world’s biggest race,” the New York Marathon, which will take place on Sunday, November 2. The shoe comes in ‘Women’s Cushioning” and “Men’s Cushioning.” Both retail for $114.99 and have debuted alongside two NYC Excelsior tees. The shoe is available here, but be warned, the shoe will not become available again until March of 2015.
