It seems like there will be a new Under Armour distribution center in Tennessee. Mount Juliet, outside of Nashville, will be the future home of UA’s third U.S. distribution center. The center will be one million square feet, an investment of over $100 million, and will bring 1,500 new jobs to the area. The center is scheduled to open in early 2016.
Under Armour COO and President of Product Kip Fulks said:
“Under Armour’s mission is to make all athletes better, and that begins by building a great team and providing best in class service for our customers…We take immense pride in partnering with Governor Haslam, Commissioner Hagerty, and the many other state and local officials who have joined our commitment to this mission and who have worked tirelessly to establish the ideal business climate in which everyone can flourish.”
Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam welcomed the brand to the area with this statement:
“This is the beginning of a long and mutually beneficial relationship, and we look forward to the development resulting from this exciting new project.”
There are two Under Armour retail stores in Tennessee, one in Nashville and one in Sevierville. The other two UA distribution centers are located in Baltimore, MD, and Rialto, CA.
