mita sneakers cooked up somethin’ sweet for the Hummel Marathona.
Using the classic Hummel Marathona OG, a heritage running shoe, the sneaker sets out to communicate the cultural synergy between Denmark and Japan. Both brands decided to revisit the culinary theme, similar to their past Salmon collaboration, and go for something a little sweeter: Danish pastries.
The low-profile silhouette is constructed with a deep red pigskin suede upper that is mixed with hits of mesh and heavy cotton canvas. A crimson red graces the entire toebox in “dip” fashion while elements of marigold are found within the linings and unique detailing of the outsoles and laces.
Designed to emulate the look of a puff pastry, the shoebox finishes off the theme with a dot of pink icing on its top. Included in the packaging are two laces — a flat burgundy lace set and a two-toned rope set.
The mita sneakers x Hummel Marathona ‘Danish Pastry’ will be dropping on February 3 online at select retailers like Hanon. Retail is set at £109 (approx. USD $155).
