The 2016 Running USA Industry Conference on Friday, Feb. 12, will debut the Millennial Running Study, presented by Derrick Feldmann, president of Achieve, a division of Forte Interactive, and the lead researcher for the Millennial Impact Project.
The first-of-its-kind study of Millennials and their involvement in running events provides significant insights to race directors, brands and other running industry decision makers on the growing influence of those born between 1980-2000.
“One of the most frequent questions we get from event directors is how to engage Millennials to run and participate in races,” said Slade Sundar, COO and Head of Product at RacePartner. “We sponsored the Millennial Running Study to provide the industry with a better understanding of this generation’s social and economic behaviors.”
The factors behind Millennial’s motivations and how their behaviors are influencing running events is obvious, whether that being through the increased used of technology in endurance activities or the rapid rise of obstacle, color, night and costume races.
“Millennials are changing how participants engage with the sport and each other,” said Rich Harshbarger, CEO of Running USA. “The Millennial Running Study gives industry leaders an in-depth understanding of how to shape events and engage with this influential generation.”
The Running USA Industry Conference is being held in Los Angeles, Feb. 10-12, 2016.
