Marc Dolce Shares adidas Originals Classics with Futurecraft 4D Midsoles

At adidas’ 747 Warehouse St. event — which was a complete madhouse when our team was there — adidas Originals updated several of its classic models with Futurecraft 4D midsoles and put them on display.

Posted by Marc Dolce, adidas VP and Creative Director, the display seemed like an exercise in what is possible with Carbon and adidas’ Futurecraft 4D midsole system; the lattice-structured 3D printed midsoles were put on classics like the Kobe 1, Forum Hi, Pro Model, and more — sneakers that all use different upper materials (canvas, leather, synthetics, etc.).

There is no official word on whether these adidas Originals Futurecraft 4D will hit retail, but if they hit retail at $300 or more like adidas’ current Futurecraft offerings, will you be interested in buying them? Sound off in the comments below.

  1. The Kobe 1 (Crazy 1) is my favorite. Looks like a fancy functional art design. Something new without completely changing the silhouette to a point of being unrecognizable. I like how all of the brands are trying different things on their older models by updating the tech without feeling like its forced. Adidas I feel has done it the best these years. The $300+ price tag hurts the pockets but i would love to see these in person and try them out.

  2. If adidas put boost in the crazy 1 (kobe) or even tmac retros they will be killing nike for sure…make light weight materials on those shoes and it’s a wrap
