Leaks Show What Nike May Have Planned for the Celtics’ Alternate Uniform

Fresh off of a successful season opener by the Boston Celtics, retailers may have jumped the gun on unveiling what Nike has planned next for Boston’s uniform lineup.

Thanks to twitter user @tweetsbyJD — an avid fan of his local Boston sports franchises — we have a look at what is expected to be one of two new alternate uniforms to be debuted this season for the Celtics. This white jersey sports a solid green arm and neck hole trim with green lettering outlined in gold.

Uniform trackers (like myself) will notice this closely resembles the grey and green ‘City Edition’ uniform Nike and the Celtics debuted last year, although it is missing the famed parquet graphic this time around. While Nike is expected to give every NBA team some form of a City Edition uniform again this year, there are also rumors of a new Earned Edition uniform as an option for the 16 franchises that participated in Playoffs last season. There is no confirmation of which edition this uniform will fall under.

In related news, the NBA recently unveiled LockerVision, a hub dedicated to providing the uniform schedule for every team this season. Uniforms that have already been unveiled are color coded while yet-to-be unveiled uniforms sets simply show a white or “Coming Soon” text plate.

Celtics fans, are you digging this new look or are you a fan of the more traditional green and white sets? Be sure to let us know your thoughts down in the comments.

  1. question is, would they stick? I’ve seen and heard some horror stories regarding the Nike Swingman’s and Authentic jerseys ripping off and have those decals fall off after a few wash.
