Kyle Lowry Signs with adidas Basketball

Toronto Raptors point guard, Kyle Lowry has signed with adidas.

adidas has been signing point guards left and right, and Kyle Lowry is the latest point guard to join adidas basketball. Previously with PEAK Sports, Kyle Lowry will play a big role in the development of adidas basketball footwear and apparel simply by playing in the large media market of Toronto. Im looking forward to what adidas will be giving Kyle Lowry to wear on court when the Toronto Raptors wear their 90’s throwback jerseys next season, but thats just me.

What do you guys think about adidas signing an array of point guards? Have they given up on “big men”? Let us know in the comments section below and stay tuned to WearTesters.com for any of your performance needs.

  1. I think they’re signing point guards because most of their shoes are geared towards guards. They can just give him a PE of one of their current models, which in turn, will give their new shoes more exposure as more people will see NBA players wearing them.

I don’t see them making proper signature models for all these players that they’re signing. Do you guys think that all these new signings are going to get signature models or will most of them just get a player edition model?

Is Lillard actually going to get a proper signature model?

    1. I agree. I don’t think that most will get a sig of course but I do believe that Lillard will due to the rumored amount that they’re paying him (don’t know it personally but heard that it was huge). I doubt they’d pay a guy too much who wasn’t going to be getting his own eventually.

  2. I’ll also add that guards seem to also draw in more of the casual fans as they tend to be more dynamic/exciting than big guys. I’d always choose a great big man over a small guy when starting or building a team, but I think the average fan relates to guards more.

I think Adidas are really trying to make a move here with both Boost and all their new, young, potentially promising signings.

    1. Good point about the guard. I think that it may have something to do with guards being known more commonly. This might be because they are the QB of the team so to speak and usually have the ball in their hands making them the one to get more attention.

  3. Seems like a total money grab on his part. He obviously likes Jordan brand best. I don’t think I ever saw him wear even one pair of Adidas last year. Hmmm. You would think $48 million would be enough. Cant really blame him though. Getting paid to wear someones sneakers must be awesome.
