If you thought Nike was finished VaporMax-ing all the things, think again. The latest hybrid to surface is the Air VaporMax Light 2, a VaporMax boot.
Interestingly, this VaporMax boot doesn’t ride atop a full-length VaporMax Air unit. Instead, it takes a more traditional route and replaces the heel usually found on a similar boot with a heel VaporMax Air unit. What’s even more strange is the actual construction of the boot.
What appears to be a fully knit sock-like upper is given structure by aggressive leather overlays that make the Air VaporMax Light 2 seem more like a kids boot than something for the runway. The shoe also rides atop a thick midsole slab that curves upward at the forefoot and is reinforced by thick plastic pieces at the toewrap and heel.
According to reliable leaker US11, there is no official word yet on when to expect the Nike Air VaporMax Light 2. We’ll be sure to keep you updated.
For now, let us know if this is something you’d rock in the comments below. The pricing of this boot, which is also unknown, should be interesting.
