Last night, Kevin Durant took to Instagram to unveil the KD 11 ‘Emoji’, a new colorway of his latest signature sneaker.
First posted by Randy M. Williams (@rmbwilliams), a long-time friend of Durant’s, this KD 11 sports several different hues of orange Flyknit across its upper. Black and teal accents highlight the inner lining, heel panels, and laces, while the shoe rides atop a transparent rubber cupsole.
According to Williams, this is the KD 11 ‘The Academy’ — named after the huge training facility in Southern California — although the shoe flaunts some notable emojis at the heel panels including the strong arm, timer, peace sign, and lock. Of course, we’ll update you when the shoe gets an official name and release date.
The KD 11 rides atop a rubber cupsole to contain its React and full-length Zoom Air setup. Nightwing2303 and Stanley T. both say the shoe rides high (and both were not fans of the shoe, although the cushion is money). You can learn more by checking out Nightwing2303’s Nike KD 11 Performance Review.
