The Jordan Zoom Tenacity 88 ‘Safari’ Pays Homage to the Original Air Safari

The Jordan Zoom Tenacity 88 ‘Safari’ pays homage to the classic Nike Air Safari, the shoe that introduced Safari print to Nike’s line up.

While it may not be for everyone, the Jordan Zoom Tenacity 88 is a runner/trainer from the Jordan Brand. Recently, the shoe has been releasing in colorways that pay homage to the Air Jordan 3 ‘Black Cement’ and ‘True Blue’, which both originally released in 1988.

Now, the Jordan Zoom Tenacity 88 is paying homage once again — to a shoe that released just before 1988. The 1987 Air Safari, which came back in 2018 as a Quickstrike release, appears to be the inspiration for this Zoom Tenacity 88. This shoe uses the fan-favorite Safari print at the heel and toe, and stays loud with an orange base.

Despite being on the feet of Justin Timberlake as he travels the world for his Man of the Woods tour, the Jordan Zoom Tenacity 88 doesn’t seem to be on the radars of many sneakerheads.

The Jordan Zoom Tenacity 88 retails for $125 and is available Stateside in various colorways (several colorways are already on sale for $99 at Eastbay.com). However, this ‘Safari’ edition is only available overseas for the time being. We’ll be sure to keep you updated if this version ends up releasing in the States.

Share your thoughts on the Jordan Zoom Tenacity 88 ‘Safari’ in the comment section below. Would you rock these over a pair of Air Safaris? We’re sure the comfort is there, but looks and nostalgia may stop most short of purchasing.
