The Jordan Dub Zero is Set to Make Another Return

Like it or not, Jordan Brand is bringing back the Jordan Dub Zero. Again.

Not only will the model be returning, but it’ll be doing so in popular colorways featured on the legacy line of Retro models. So, these are a Retro of a hybrid that will use Retro colorways. Dates and pricing have yet to be unveiled, but if they’re anywhere near the $190 mark then they’ll be found at your local outlets sooner rather than later.

Yes, we know. It seems as if Jordan Brand can’t come up with anything new or innovative any more. It’s quite disappointing as most of us have grown up watching Jordan Brand grow into something great since 1985 in its own unique way. Nowadays, everything is just a Retro of something, paying homage to something else. Nothing original or creative unless you consider the signature lines within the brand…and it seems as if nobody wants those either.

Where do you see Jordan Brand going in the next 10 years? Will they be able to ride the Retro wave forever or do you think the Retro trend will be the brand’s downfall?

  1. I think Jordan brands retro line is the bread and butter. The 28 and 29 were elite shoes but then there was the 30s.

  2. It was only a couple years ago that Jordan was putting out many savage performers(28, 29, Superfly 2, several Melos), innovating with flight plate and knit uppers. They were the premier brand for pure performance. I don’t know what happened, but they ain’t that anymore.

  3. It’s an interesting question as far as whether the retro wave will still be a big thing in 10 years. Personally I’m pretty fatigued on most Jordan retros, but still get super excited for other brands retros because they’ve got a larger variety of shoes to work with….and they’re almost always much cheaper than J’s.

I will say that I love playing in my Melo M12s, so Jordan can still make performers. Haven’t heard a word on the M13s, but it will definitely be a shoe I check for. I’d have to think they can step it up on some of their other lines when it’s lucrative for them to do so. Wish they’d make killer sig lines for Westbrook and Kawhi.

  4. At 100-125 these are awesome Nu-Retro’s, still a great performance option for bigger players, at 190-200 these are WAY overpriced.

  5. I’ll look for these at the outlets… As for the company they will survive with the retro line for a while and sprinkle in new tech on signature lines here and there. It’ll be a while before this company goes down hill.

    1. I agree with Raul, they’ll release the space jams this year and some OG colors next year and they’ll be fine. I think they need to stay away from referencing retros with their signature line. They should continue to make shoes patterned after Russell Westbrook’s game, like the 28-30. They might not sell as well as retros but they’re still some of the top performance shoes out.
