James Harden’s Crazylight 2015 PE worn last night is actually a piece of tracking technology to study essential movements during real game time situations.
In preparation of his first signature model adidas placed a ton of black speckles all over James Harden’s white-on-white Crazylight 2015 to track his movements during his game – in which he dropped 46 points – against the Portland Trailblazers. As shown in the video, this tracking technology allows adidas to study Harden’s movements to make his signature sneaker more than just a model with a name and a logo.

While this technology isn’t necessarily new to the signature sneaker design process, we have not seen a player actually use this technology during an actual NBA game. This is something that can become very useful as in-game movements are somewhat un-replicable and the game of basketball is often unpredictable which requires each player to rely on improv the get where they need to go on the hardwood.
What do you think about James Harden wearing tracking technology in-game? #WearTesters
I like the technology, using visual/optic tracking, instead of needing a build-in chip, or censor in the shoe.
Even the look is pretty, not quite, but almost a Snow Leopard look.
what’s a censor??
That’s fuckin trippy. James Harden with the dipping dots PEs.
That’s pretty cool, now fix that logo, please
It’s honest and evident push towards performance development. I like it. What better than to do it on court? Wonder what the end result/product will be, since we’ve already seen the leak of next season’s stuff.
Interesting, though, that they seem to only focus on the lateral side of things….unless the footbed is also serving as data acquisition to study pronation and whatnot.
Harden’s shoes are only able to detect offence.
Very Nice,
and being able to scan a players pattern and movement during a game is better than doing it in a Lab,
Expecting the 1st signature model to have full length boost.
