You’ll Recognize the Inspiration for the New Jordan Trainer Essential

“It isn’t what you do during the season that makes you better, it’s what you do in the off-season to get better.” You might have heard that phrase from various coaches and trainers and some of it might or not might be true. The fact of the matter is, you definitely need the proper kicks to get you going, particularly during the season or off-season. Well, Jordan Brand has a new shoe for that: the Jordan Trainer Essential.

The shoe obviously takes design cues from a classic model, the Air Jordan 8. From a single velcro cross strap to the Van Halen-esque heel panels, the Jordan Trainer Essential certainly pays homage to a classic. However, I’m sure most of us were expecting more.

The new slip-on seems to have an open mesh upper that pairs with a Phylon midsole. The Trainer’s traction pattern also echoes the Air Jordan 8.

The Jordan Trainer Essential will release in select Jordan retailers and at Nike.com. There has been no set release date or price, so make sure you keep it locked on WearTesters.com for moe information.

Do you like the blending of the past and present with a shoe? Or are you tired of recycled looks from old sneakers? Sound off below.

  1. I like them actually: look quite nice, have expectation of zero cushioning. Would definitely pick these up for 30eur
