The designers over at Nike SB have merged the Dunk Low Elite and the Koston 3 to create a fresh new look with the Nike SB Dunk High Elite.
Nike Skateboarding’s newest creation rides the current trend of sock-like constructions by utilizing the brand’s Flyknit technology in the collar area.
“The sock thing is new to skateboarding, but the first time I saw it I was immediately into it,” said Ohio-born pro skateboarder Kevin Terpening in a statement. “I’ve always preferred to skate in a high-top anyway.” He will launch the shoe with a signature colorway.
Nike will launch the SB Dunk High Elite in Terpening’s signature black and racer blue colorway that is obviously inspired by Air Jordan 1 ‘Royal’.
The toebox is made out of a knit jacquard material that has “very few seams” and provides a locked-in fit thanks to its “super thin” nature.
“It creates a solid connection from your ankle to your foot,” continued Terpening in a statement. “I’m more aware of the way my foot and board work together.”
The Nike SB Dunk High Elite Kevin Terpening colorway launches July 20 for $130 on the SNKRS app, Nike.com, and select Nike SB retailers. You can head over to Nike Inc. for the full story behind the Nike SB Dunk High Elite.
