A Good Look at What Could be James Harden’s Next Signature Sneaker

adidas and James Harden appear to be evolving the Harden Vol. 1 for what could be the Harden Vol. 2.

adidas Harden Vol 1 Performance Review

The adidas Harden Vol 1 was a solid on-court performance model for those that want court feel and impact protection — two things that don’t usually come packaged together.

Rumors are flying around the interwebs that this could be the Harden Vol 2. While we can clearly see Harden’s logo on the tongue, it is still officially unconfirmed at this point if this is a scrapped sample, an overseas model, or his next signature sneaker.

However, the Boost-cushioned midsole likely points to this being his second signature sneaker with adidas, but that is purely speculation at this time.

Alongside the Boost midsole (which is painted on some of these colorways) we see the forefoot section caged on the lateral side, much like the Harden Vol 1. With the toe-down view you can see the medial forefoot Boost is free, like the Vol 1, so it looks like this version will offer slightly more cushion than the original model.

The upper appear to be comprised of three pieces; an internal bootie, the knitted forefoot, and the synthetic mid panel and rear. The outsole looks like an evolution of what the Vol 1 used with James Harden’s foot map being somewhat visible.

Let us know what you think of what could be the adidas Harden Vol 2 below and stay tuned for official updates once available.

You can catch James Harden rocking the Harden Vol 1 on-court to start the 2017-18 NBA season and we hope to see this version on-court by All-Star 2018.

  1. Definitely a step back aesthetically from the 1s. Will grab a pair on disco if the performance is as good or better than the 1s.

  2. A small thing is the lace set up. Adidas is (to me) bad about not having the laces go far enough down the shoe towards the toes. They always feel loose across my feet.

  3. Nightwing, I am a huge fan of your work! By any chance could you tell me what the ratings on the Jordan 29s would be based on todays rating methods with the starting 5 etc?
