First Look at the Nike Air Max Sequent 3

Not every shoe can be a Lunar, Flyknit, Zoom whatever, and Nike knows how to capitalize in the budget arena using tried-and-true technology and materials. Case in point, the Nike Air Max Sequent 3.

This third model in the Sequent line takes off where the 2 left, using the U-shaped Air Max bubble in the heel and super-large flex grooves in the forefoot for ease of transition.

The change comes in the upper material. Last year we got a mesh with fuse overlays. On the latest Nike Air Max Sequent 3 we are treated to a 4-way stretch mesh that is built to move naturally with the foot. Flywire takes care of the midfoot fit and lacing while a partial bootie covers all interior rough spots.

These are the shoes that make Nike money, and I am not ashamed to say my daughters both have a pair of the Sequent 2. The Sequent line is functional, looks great on foot, and has just enough tech to keep most sneakerheads interested. And I haven’t even mentioned durability — the Sequent is built to last, provided you don’t pop the bubbles.

The Nike Air Max Sequent 3 is slated for release during Holiday 2017 (we don’t have an exact date yet) with a price tag of $100. Stay tuned to WearTesters.com and we will keep you updated.
