Dr. J Dunks at Age 63

If you guys watched the 90 minute documentary The Doctor then you probably already know that Dr. J still has some life left in those 63 year old legs of his.

The documentary itself was awesome and I can’t wait to watch it again. If you missed it then start scouring the internet to see who has uploaded before it’s removed.

Hit the jump to view the Dr dunk and lets all hope that we too can play the game at that age.

  1. You know what’s interesting is dr j’s kids are pretty young considering his age. They went to a basketball camp that I went to. The oldest I think might be starting high school while the younger one is in elementary school. I watched the older one play and it was sort of sad how bad he was.

  2. Those kids you’re referring to might be his kids with his last wife. He had 4 kids with the first marriage and he is also the father of tennis player, Alexandra Stevenson.

  3. Why do we care about DR Js kids? The man dunked (which is NOT still being able to play “basketball” at his age…its being able to jump like 12 inches off the ground at his height and reach) a basketball. You are forgetting he is like 6ft 10, a former NBA allstar HOFer and kerps himself still in ok shape if he can dunk still. He is not some Joe Schmo thay could dunk in High School at 6ft 3. Its not a big achievment. As much as I like Dr. J, (I’d have a nickname if that was my name…like Magic Johnson) his career is what people should appreciate…..not a Dunk at 63.

  4. The fact that you have to argue about the kids, man I was thinking you missed the message till, you wrote that last line. I’m honestly honored to have just watched this documentary. It’s right behind Bill Russell’s for me far as impact and class. Guess I’m getting old because seeing him put it down at 63 touched me.

(He is 6 foot 7in), yes the 3 inches make a world of a difference, if you don’t think so 🙂 talk to the midgets at six flags that can’t ride for not being X height 🙂

  5. I think everyone is missing the point. At 53 I know that I am speaking to people that are probably half my age. I saw Dr. J at the Garden against the Knicks the night he leaped from the free-throw line with that massive dunk. We all saw dunks in the schoolyard but never in a NBA/ABA game like that. He and players like Connie Hawkins, Artist Gilmore, and Wilt Chamberlin and Willis Reed opened the door for people like Magic and Jordan. Now Magic and Jordan pay respect to Dr. J; how about you non-playing so called athletes’ try doing the same. By the way, he was 6’7″ probably shorter now.
