A Detailed Look at the Under Armour Drive 4

under armour drive 4 1

The Under Armour Drive 4 isn’t available just yet, but Eastbay has given us a detailed look at what’s to come from UA’s basketball division.

The upper uses a bootie construction with overlays for structural support and lockdown. Cushion comes in the form of a heel Micro G heel unit for firm responsive cushioning. Traction looks amazing — nothing fancy, just large herringbone that should hold up outdoors and should perform well.

The UA Drive 4 will be available in the second week of August (if you successfully checked out at Eastbay, your shoe will not ship until then). Low top versions of the Drive 4 will be coming late summer or early fall, but those have a completely different upper that utilize a mesh build with a synthetic TPU skin overlay.

What do you think of the UA Drive 4 in this triple black build? Let us know.

  1. I like how this shoe looks, like a space marine combat boot. I also really like that they didn’t mess around with some story telling traction pattern with a story no one cares about; its just straight herringbone that goes right to the edges. The multiple flex grooves in the forefoot is a good thing, as well as how tight the ankle collar looks. This could be a sleeper performance beast if all the elements work.

I don’t know if there is only micro G in the heel. On other cws the “window” slit thing on the lateral side shows what could be a cushion going farther up the shoe. It’ll be a lot better if the cushion goes full length; these days the featured shoes for a brand usually should have good cushioning in the forefoot.

  2. Another cushione that feels meh better than the kyrie 1,2 and 3 but that’s not hard to do you can lower the price all you want but come on give me something ua buy Q sport cushion patent or whatever is their name at this point I’m better of going to Marshalls or Tj max and buying the clutchfit 1

  3. The look is kinda stiff but I like the overall design. Should be pretty good considering the herringbone traction.

Btw, if Nene33 see this comment. Can you please send me an email to tungdang1210@gmail.com? :D. I have something to ask you but can’t find anyway to contact you.

  4. The cushion is what?! LOL! C’mon. I’m really hoping that there’s more to it than just a micro g crash pad in the heel. I mean, I guess that’s cool but full length micro g can’t be that expensive to implement.

  5. i think these look really sleek, especially when they’re blacked out like this, looks like a no-nonsense, streamlined pair of performance shoes
