The Bodega Boys have a sneaker! A classic Nike sneaker!
Twitter personalities turned Viceland late night stars Desus and Mero have their own Nike Air Money. The shoe is complete with unique embroidered shrouds, which echo the graffiti from the show’s desk, and the wrap-around lacing from the iconic 1996 hoop sneaker.
The heels are co-branded with “&” branding from the show’s name (Desus & Mero) and the network’s logo — and they pop on this high-contrast colorway. There is no official word on whether these will see a retail release.
When it seems like we’ll be getting a Nike Air Money Retro in no time, take a closer look at this sneaker and recall what the original Nike Air Money sat atop. This ‘Desus and Mero’ Nike Air Money sits atop Air More Uptempo tooling. That makes sense — Nike has been ruining the Air More Uptempo with horrendous colorways all year so it’s currently producing the tooling.
However, this hybrid Nike Air Money may disappoint those who remember the big heel window of the original. There is no official word on a Nike Air Money retro, and there had been no leaks to tip us off. Keep it locked to WearTesters.com, we’ll update you.
Are you hyped that the Bodega Boys Desus and Mero have their own sneaker? Would you cop if it released? Sound off below.
