Derrick Rose Dropped 50 Points in the adidas D Rose 9

We’ve all been waiting for this moment. D Rose is back, and in the Rose 9, he went for 50.

Donning the vintage Minnesota Timberwolves jersey from the Kevin Garnett era and a blacked-out version of the adidas D Rose 9, Derrick Rose got all the shine because starters Jeff Teague, point guard, sat out with a knee bruise as did Jimmy Butler. And Rose didn’t disappoint.

Rose reached deep into his bag tonight, terrorizing the paint with his patented killer crossover. Maybe it was the kicks that brought back the magic, but D Rose took us down memory lane and served a masterpiece by dropping 50 points in an emotional and gritty win over the Utah Jazz.

From being the youngest MVP in league history to suffering major knee injuries in both knees, Rose experienced one of the biggest fall from grace in sports history. However, tonight we all witnessed the Derrick Rose of old, even if it’s only for one game.

  1. Ummmm… while kudos to the physical comeback, which is no small feat, let’s not forget his real fall of grace: while we’ll never know the real story from that night, the details both sides agree on are a bit… ummm… bad.

    1. His fall from grace had to do with his injury… Am I missing something that another replier said it was a money grab?

  2. Congrats to D Rose.

I was really impressed with what I saw from him in the previous game against the Lakers. He didn’t shoot well but he had that quickness and explosiveness again. I thought to myself he was looking like the Rose of old and then he drops FIDDY the next game.

Super happy for him. Seeing a guy work so hard just to be on the court really highlighted the stark contrast of the recent Jimmy Butler situation.

I’d still like to know why Chris “Nightwing” hated the Rose 9 so much. I expected to get some info in the recent “Most hated” shoe videos on youtube but that obviously never happened.

    1. I don’t think it’s about hate, it’s just disappointing as a downgrade from previous models from the line.

  3. Didn’t he say that he’d never play in another shoe that didn’t have Boost? I am not sure if the decision to use Bounce was made by Adidas, or if Rose still has any creative input.
