The power of social media to bring athletes and fans together is becoming more and more apparent — just look at this Nike iD Kobe AD.
As we all know, DeMar DeRozan is a Kobe Bryant sneaker aficionado. In the past, he has rocked fan-designed Kobe sneakers, and the latest is no different.
Featuring the same upper material as the retail versions of the Kobe AD, this particular sneaker deviates is the colorway combination. Designed by 28-year-old Dell Treasure of Layton, Utah, this sneaker features a predominantly all-white upper, save for the darkened Swoosh and gum bottoms.
DeRozan will wear this design tonight when the Toronto Raptors take on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
“MSG is the last old-school arena in the NBA,” DeRozan said in a statement. “It’s a throwback to a time where the game was the only thing that mattered, so I wanted to choose a fan design that was simple and reflective of that.”
