When you think of Clarks footwear, you either have never seen nor heard of them, or you know they’re known for basic, iconic designs like the Wallabee. They usually appeal to an older, less sneaker obsessed crowd, but their recent work may temporarily change that. They have recently unveiled the Trigenic Dune and Trigenic Flex as their upcoming technical footwear models. They will feature a segmented Vibram rubber outsole, EVA foam midsoles, inner booties, and soft, pebbled leather uppers.
Their design stands out among a site full of sneakers, but they look like a great casual, work, and hiking option in a number of different climates. The Vibram sole looks to offer superior flexibility, and having a full EVA midsole will provide excellent comfort for a chukka. The woven, two-tone affect reminds me of some different N-7 moccasin releases from Nike.
Anyone who loves a great quality leather upper and needs a shoe of this type for work may not need to look any further. These may not be what you are used to seeing, but Clarks seems to be moving into the future with some well thought out design. Let us know what you think of them in the comments below. Don’t count them out!
