The Brandblack Kite Racer is the Los Angeles-based company’s latest footwear style and it will launch soon.

Set to relaunch Brandblack.com with its highly anticipated AW18 Ashes to Ashes apparel line in October, the brand has officially unveiled the Kite Racer. While fans have seen this shoe before, we now have more details — like its price.

The Kite Racer is a performance shoe that features an ultra-light monofilament rip-stop upper built to handle 15+mile runs. Vibram has once again partnered with Brandblack to develop a custom “maximal” midsole designed by Brandblack founder and lead designer David Raysse. Interestingly, the outsole uses a blade traction pattern similar to setups that have worked brilliantly on some of the brand’s past basketball models.

The Brandblack Kite Racer will retail for $200 and drop sometime in October. There is still no word on when Brandblack will officially relaunch but stay tuned for updates. In the meantime, check out all of these upcoming Kite Racer colorways below.

  1. So are they not making bball shoes anymore (apart from.BBB spinoff?)

If so shows you where the money is these days i suppose

    1. The brand’s new direction is the brand’s new direction. It’s BB’s money now that the brand is independent so it can spend it however. I still think the brand makes really cool stuff, but the focus isn’t basketball anymore. David Raysse does have a hoop shoe in the works though.

  2. I thought Santa Ana would be their performance division. The Rare Metal 2 was kinda being teased on Raysse’s IG.

They haven’t quote broken their regular run of yearly basketball shoes just yet. I think it’s just that the Delta kinda made last year forgettable. Hoping they release some kind of takedown counterpart to their BBB products. $500 for shoes is…yeah.
