West Coast boutique powerhouse BAIT has come to New York Comic Con with yet another stunning Marvel collaboration in honor of the Venom movie hitting theaters on October 5.
After dropping several collections of BAIT x Marvel tees and hoodies — the latest of which highlighted Venom and Carnage from their historic 1993 issue — BAIT has tapped the Puma Cell, one of the brand’s recently resurrected ’90s sneakers, for a new build that pays homage to the world’s most famous symbiote.
The BAIT x Marvel Venom x Puma Cell was produced in very limited numbers and, as a reference to how the symbiotes are stored in the new Tom Hardy Venom film, each pair of the shoes comes with its own custom made bio canisters and unique packaging.
The Puma Cell is a chunky ’90s runner constructed from mesh and premium suedes, but BAIT added black silicon prints to the shoe’s upper to give the shoe a brand new look — like the Venom symbiote is taking the shoe as its new host. White 3M accents highlight the upper while classic Venom artwork and MARVEL x BAIT branding hits the footbeds.
The BAIT x Marvel Venom x Puma Cell retails for $250 and will be available for pre-order at BAIT’s NYCC booth (#115) this Thursday and Friday, as well as at all BAIT chapter stores this Saturday. Those who cannot make it to Comic Con can enter BAIT’s online raffle October 8.
This sneaker will release alongside a matching BAIT x Marvel Venom x Alpha Industries MA-1 Reversible Jacket.
