The Under Armour Curry One is Unveiled

ua-sc-7Just moments ago Stephen Curry’s first signature shoe, the Curry One, was unveiled. He is set to debut the his sig on court tomorrow night against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Curry One will drop on February 13, 2015 for $120, a great price point. Its release date also coincides with All Star Weekend. The shoe rocks an Anafoam upper, a new material designed for this shoe, which UA says will “create anatomically efficient support.” The midsole of the Curry One will get UA’s Charged cushioning system.

Nightwing will cover more in-depth technical aspects of the shoe in an upcoming video. What do you think of some of the upcoming colorways? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

    1. Because its his own shoe, not many people can say they have their own shoe. His name, his logo, he’s becoming the face of a brand. If that doesn’t make you feel appreciative then I don’t know what will.

  1. Not bad. Not bad at all if it performs well. Hopefully, these piggy-back on the positives from the CFD that I hear so much about and prove to be performance beasts.

  2. Wow, only $120? Amazing pricing from UA. I am very impressed that they decided to keep it affordable. They very easily could have increased the price after the success the Clutchfit Drives are having, but it looks like they decided not to.

I really like the sounds of the Anafoam upper and also the Charged midsole seems like it could be even better than Micro G.

Here is what I read about Charged in regards to their new upcoming running shoe. Not sure if the Basketball variant of Charged foam will be the same, but it does sound like it will be an awesome foam.

“This is a super technical running shoe. The SpeedForm Apollo Gemini is made up for four distinct polymers that were developed with an adaptive cushioning. That means when you’re standing it’s really soft and comfortable, and when you’re running it will get more responsive. This is great because the cushioning also adapts to the user overall. So that’s our big story, it’s super responsive and super soft as well. We took everything we learned from Apollo to marry it with the SpeedForm upper to continue to improve the fit. It’s still made in the bra factory, super breathable and super lightweight. We’ve added a little more packaging into the deal by adding a bit more foam into the heel but it is still a light shoe overall at 9.9 ounces. The Gemini has a lot more cushioning so this is what I would like to say is someone’s everyday trainer that could also serve as a marathon shoe.”

  3. $120.00??for one of the best player sig shoe??totally cop…im hoping the Anafoam well do the same like the upper of crazylyt boost…

    1. All 6 of them. Home, Away (black/white), fruity ones, the Hornets, the Taxi Camo and the Underdog. He did not want his shoe to be limited, he wanted people to buy them and hoop in them.

      1. Curry’s a stud. That’s awesome that he pushed for them to release all the colorways.

He’s won me over this season. I liked him a couple of years ago when the Warriors made the playoffs for the first time in years. I didn’t think he was quite an All-star PG that season (based on consistency). I thought that he needed to be more consistent, but now, two years later he seems to have gone beyond All-star. I think he’s scratching the surface of Superstar level player if he can keep this level of play up.

And for the record, I think there’s only about 4 or 5 Superstar level players in the NBA.

        1. I’m with you on this bro. I just realized when I flip through which games I want to watch on NBA League Pass, I always look for the GSW games first. Steph Curry is FIRE right now and I think he really deserves this. The shoe looks aesthetically awesome in my opinion. My favorite colorways would have to be the Black/Gray and the Red/Gray. Definitely an autocop for me. The tech looks very promising and at $120 or approximately $150CAD? That’s a hell of a deal. I’m definitely excited.

          1. Man Nightwing I don’t know how you do this lol do people actually listens and watch the videos? By the way thank you for the info on this unveiling, no one has provided as much info on this as you have.

  4. I cant wait for the performance review i hope it comes out before the release so many persons can make a good decision

  5. EH, If it didn’t have SC on the shoe, it would be just another unattractive boring shoe. Since its his signature, OH NO! Chris will buy it because he’s a GS groupie. And well deserved.

    1. He might also buy it because he does reviews of various performance models from the signatures to the entry level. That’s kind of what this site is geared towards, but you knew that. Right?

  6. that black and red one is straight FIRE.
Micro-G AND Charged? 2 full length cushions + Step Curry Sig= COP

  7. I saw Curry rocking these Camo Taxis in tonight’s game. I thought that he might debut the home. I see the Underdog being the popular pick, but that 30/30 Son/Father Dell Curry Hornets color way might do it for me. I have nothing to wear with them, but the story is deep.

So this possibly being my first UA hoops shoe will have me experiencing Micro G as the insole and their new Charged foam midsole at the same time. Does that sound like overkill or mind blowing?

  8. those look so good, do you know if all the colour ways will be available in the u.k cuz i noticed the clutch fit drive’s don’t have as much options as they did on u.s website, also is it just under armour’s website where you get them or are others going to be selling them too, as in a website that actually ships to the u.k.
