The Under Armour ClutchFit Drive 3 is Available Now

A few days ago we reported the upcoming Under Armour ClutchFit Drive 3 tech specs. Now, the high version of the shoe is available for purchase in the U.S. for $125 in five colorways: Metallic Silver, Black/White, Black/Red, Midnight Navy, and Gamma Green. The Low version should arrive shortly for $110.

The new ClutchFit Drive 3 features an updated ClutchFit upper, an external heel counter and internal shanks, and a bear-trap lacing system that connects to the tongue. Add in an Achilles pillow, die-cut anti-microbial OrthoLite anatomical sockliner molds, and a herringbone outsole with diamond shapes insets. Finally, the most important part, cushioning: Charged cushioning is placed under the heel while a Micro G foam layer runs full-length. This could shape up to be one hell of an on-court performer.

  1. Fucking A!
Clutchfit 1 is still some of the best basketball shoes in the market, too bad UA ditches MicroG completely, such a shame.
I don’t have any non-hoop UA shoes but the Charge in Curry 1 and 2 is definitely a notch below MicroG.

    1. This is the general sentiment. I can’t believe that UA doesn’t look at comments or forums and see the desire for MicroG. It’s EVERYWHERE. Yet, they put MicroG (or some form of it) on the models that people don’t really hear about and have decided that Charged is the way to go. I don’t get it.

      1. That’s true. I just don’t think that it’s getting much shine. They are legitimately pushing the Charged more. That being said, I’m not sure that the Micro G of old is being implemented either but I’ll definitely have to check out a more recent shoe to really judge. Having the layer run full length sounds attractive and I hope that it works but Charged is just very firm so to have it in the heel might be kind of rough but yeah…there are definitely Micro G models out there on the UA site.

    2. I had to resell my Curry 2 because I felt like it would destroy my knees each time I play.. I don’t know why they had to ‘upgrade’ to this Charged cushion. It would have been nice to just leave the MicroG on the Clutchfit Drive series. At least they would have other options aside from the brick-like Charged foam..

  2. The shoe looks great. Hopefully the Micro G layer is felt similarly to how they used to feel. I’ll never forget playing in my UA Bloodlines (Jenning’s shoe) and loving those. I wore them until the cushion was completely bottomed out and they couldn’t be worn anymore. Since then, there have been some great ones but Charged just isn’t the one for me. I wonder what the newest Torches will feel like. I had the latest ones that are on Eastbay but returned them. They were way more firm than I remembered the previous versions being. The CD1 Low was great though but the right foot had an awkward arch placement that would kill me after games so I sold them.

  3. Just FYI to those of you who are ordering from the UA site. Try doing it through your cell phone. I had a successful checkout that way. – I initially tried on my laptop, but for some odd reason, it said product was “sold out”. – I used Google Chrome browser on both devices. Weird right? — Happy Hooping y’all! (I’m praying this version of Micro-G will be the same of old. That Charged was brutal on my joints). lol
