20 years. 20 FREAKING YEARS!!!! It has really been that long since Stephon Marbury entered the league as a brash, cocky, high-scoring point guard who was going to be the Yin to Iverson’s Yang. Both guards signed with companies on the rise and we all know what happened to Iverson/The Answer. But what about Marbury?
Now all of you too young to remember will find out. And1 leaked a picture and some info today that a lot of us have been waiting on — the Marbury 1 is coming back in March 2017. Fat padding, tumbled leather, and an outsole that will wear out sometime after a nuclear winter — 90’s design at it’s highest.
So far only a navy colorway has been seen, but it would be surprising if we didn’t get the grey and the white/navy as well.
And1 has been making whispers these past few months with the first leaks of the Alpha, the M2, the Tai Chi 3, and Vertical (on Nightwing’s feet as we speak). We can only imagine what else the brand can bring us from the past. Game shorts? Mad Game’s? Garnett’s? Hmm…

Never got to try any And1 growing up, but I respect Marbury’s game and his now retired duo in Minnesota Kevin Garnett.
I tried them once when Champs was still carrying them and personally they felt like today’s Nike’s worse shoes in terms of built quality, materials and cushion. they felt like bricks as far as the model that I tried. funny how quality has downgraded a lot with Nike and I hope it’s the opposite for the other brands. Yes, the Nike/JB back then were amazing or atleast above the rest, but not anymore with Nike’s present business model.
Am I wrong but sneakers didn’t really have 3 m before this sneaker.. From my perspective.. Then others started..

and1 was everything for me back in 2000-2004. wish they’d bring back the leather slip-ons, not the tochillin. plus non sig shoes that still were awesome
The And1 Desire was my favorite shoe for a while. B-B-B-Ben Wallace wore them. They were like the Tai Chi for us big guys. Can we please get those back too?

The original Marbury is still my favorite pair of kicks. Unfortunately the shape of the retro seems to be far off fromm the og. The fit used to be great. Pulled out my original pair yesterday to compare and I’m a bit disappointed.
Will you be less disappointed if you get better tech?
