An Official Look at the Nike Kobe 1 Protro ’81 Points’

An official look at the upcoming Nike Kobe 1 Protro ’81 Points’.

I know, we don’t need to see these again. However, Nike may pull a fast one on us and make this colorway limited due to the story linked to the colorway — so this might be the closest some of us get to the shoe. Fingers crossed that isn’t the case.

Within the comment section of the last article announcing the release date, some readers mentioned the color of the shoe looked a little more blue than purple. This new set of images fixes that as we can all clearly see the varsity purple this time around.

Another concern was the leather quality. It’s hard to tell from these pictures, but it doesn’t look like we’ll see the thick premium feeling leather we saw on the other Lakers edition of the shoe — the one with the number 8 on the side. I can’t remember all these nicknames anymore — forgive me. Instead it looks closer to the thin cut material found on the Black/Court Purple pair.

Just as a reminder, the Nike Kobe 1 Protro ’81 Points’ releases January 22 for $175. Hopefully everyone that wants a pair is able to grab them.

Side note: What happened to the release of the USA version?

  1. This was a retro done right, this is my go to at the gym, I never have to wipe because the traction is great, cushion is great, materials feel great. My only negative comment is after awhile I need to air out my feet because it gets very hot in the shoe

  2. I have to change my mind. just saw that crack leather design on the toe box area again. so sad that I have to pass on this again.

  3. In the important markets of the US, there is no demand for this guy’s shoes. So if they do not reach stateside, blame Kobe Bryant and his personality, not Nike.
