The Nike Air Max, thanks to Tinker Hatfield, may be one of the most iconic shoes of the modern era. With Air Max Day quickly approaching, Nike has decided to drop the Air Max 1 Ultra 2.0 LE, an update to the original.
To celebrate the 30th birthday of the Air Max 1, it’s coming in it’s first colorway: white and University Red. The old-school mesh and mudguard design feel like it’s 1987 again, while 3.26 is featured on the tongue to commemorate the day. Updates come in the form of a lightweight outsole and modern no-sew overlays. Of course, the classic Air Max cushioning is used at the heel to for nostalgia.
The Air Max 1 Ultra 2.0 is set to release March 16 via the SNKRS app for a price of $120 in both men’s and women’s sizing.
