Air Jordan XX3 May Return In New Colorways

Later Jordan legacy/retro numbers don’t typically get much love but this looks to change with a new Chicago colorway of the Air Jordan XX3.

The Jordan XX released earlier today in a few colorways but you hardly see higher-numbered J’s get a re-release. A little background on the 2008 shoe: Tinker Hatfield designed the XX3 with Mark Smith with the intent of it being one of the first environmentally friendly shoes as part of Nike’s “considered” efforts at the time. The shoe utilizes less glue than your normal sneaker and focused more on premium-crafting and stitch-work.

Many colorways featured stitched patterns all over the side panels but this red Chicago pair seen below ditches this for a “CHI” emblem instead. It’ll be interesting to see what the backstory to this colorway is and if Nike has a reason to re-release the XX3.

While these could very well be a sample, Jordan Brand sponsor and Detroit Tigers pitcher David Price did receive a pair from JB in a huge sneaker care package seen below. All the other shoes shipped to him have released or will release, increasing the likelihood of this XX3 re-retroing.

We’ll keep you posted with any new info on this Air Jordan XX3 ‘Chicago’. Let us know your thoughts on the sneaker (and the XX3 silhouette in general) in the comments below.

  1. Not digging the over lays at all. Most of what made these start they were, were the fact that they were gorgeous. These look plain….I would not buy this pair at all. Good thing I got my og stealth.

  2. Hey man great info and the shoe looks dope but one thing, David Price pitches for the Detroit Tigers not the Lions haha
