John Manalo has taken the recently released Air Jordan 11 cleat and turned it into a wearable Air Jordan 11 sneaker.
Sole swaps are great for restoring older sneakers that are no longer wearable, but you can also take things a step further by making your own creations.
While the patent leather might not be quite as high quality on this custom cleat turned sneaker, it still looks fresh enough to wear casually around town. Using the Jordan Future tooling as a donor, John was able to turn the ‘Cool Grey’ cleat into the illusive Air Jordan 11 ‘Cool Grey’ sample that featured the ballistic mesh upper instead of the nubuck. Yes, there is an actual sample (a few pairs) floating around the world. Eastbay actually used that sample as it stock image for the catalog way back when.
Enjoy the video of the sole swap custom and let us know if you’d ever be interested in getting a pair made for yourself. Maybe we could obtain a pair and review it…
