The Air Jordan 11 ‘Cap and Gown’, first reported as the ‘Prom Night’, is now official — and it’s arriving very soon.

According to Nike, the Air Jordan 11 ‘Cap and Gown’ recognizes the Air Jordan 11’s use as a shoe for off-court formal occasions like graduation ceremonies and weddings. Thus, the shoe has been upgraded with a suede upper, metal Jumpman logo, and laces inspired by graduation cords. Of course, the iconic patent leather is here to stay.

The Air Jordan 11 ‘Cap and Gown’ will release globally on May 26 for $250 at retailers like Eastbay.com and Jordan.com.

Is this blackout Air Jordan 11 different enough from the Air Jordan 11 ‘Gamma Blue’ to warrant a cop? Let us know in the comments below.

  1. honestly, these are just boring, the gammas look so much more interesting aesthetically
and jordan is approaching overkill with releases yet again, i guess it’s the fate of every sneaker brand now, they’ve got to go in for the kill while they’re on top, now that nike and jordan are having their moment back on top we’re all inundated with releases every single day, it’s crazy

  2. The suede in place of mesh is my main turn off.

Meh, still all black and I don’t have the Gammas. Ill try at retail.

  3. After getting the gammas and the space jams I gotta say the 11 is my least favorite Jordan.

    1. after getting the Concords, Grey Suedes, Pantones, and Melos ( not the boring gym reds), I didn’t find these appealing at all. maybe the Gammas or 72-10s might get me interested but I’m leaning towards the 12s and 18s with the nice colorways. if not, it would easily be the 32s for me. so far the 32s traction (especially the translucent rubbers) seem to have improved significantly after cleaning them intensively with brush, water and baking soda. no slips so far unlike when I initially wore them.
