adidas Terrex Unveils a Weatherproof EQT Support 93/17 GTX

adidas EQT Support 93/17 GTX 2

This is the time when footwear brands are weatherproofing their silhouettes and the latest from adidas is the EQT Support 93/17 GTX.

A reinterpretation of the 1993 adidas Originals EQT Support, the latest build comes equipped with a water-repellent mesh upper and a GORE-TEX inner lining (hence the GTX moniker).

The usual EQT Support design elements like the asymmetrical tongue and soft TPU heel supports are here, but the shoe has been enhanced with reflective laces, a sturdy rubber outsole, and a Boost midsole.

The EQT Support 93/17 GTX will be available on December 26 at adidas Originals flagship stores, online, and at select retailers. adidas has not announced pricing information.

  1. if they’re gonna weatherproof a boost shoe, why not make the entire shoe a color that doesn’t stain easily, as well a making the boost black so it doesn’t show scuffs and dirt? i don’t understand, who’s going to be walking around in the snow and dirt in these?

      1. yeah the uncaged triple black is my most worn adidas shoe too, major staple in my rotation
another note i would mention about the 93/17 is it is NOT an everyday shoe, you don’t want to be wearing these for hours, it’s way too mushy, also because of the thickness of the boost some very noticeable (and unsightly) cracks and creases start appearing in the boost after a few wears
it’s a very comfortable sneaker, probably excessively so, but it’s a luxury item in any sneaker collection and not a daily staple like the ultraboost or the alphabounce
