adidas x Parley for the Oceans UltraBoost Series Set for May 10

There can be no argument: the adidas UltraBoost is an undeniable hit. From the original purple heel cup (still dope) to the medals pack for the 2016 Summer Olympics to the Uncaged, every model has been serious. However, there is more to life than shoes. adidas and Parley for the Oceans hope to convey that message with the new versions of the UltraBoost, UltraBoost Uncaged, and UltraBoost X.

The shoes are constructed from ocean plastics. Yeah, that’s right, your trash, our trash — the world’s trash — is being harvested from the ocean and used to make shoes, specifically the upper knit.

“Reusing an average of 11 plastic bottles per pair, UltraBOOST Parley, Parley UltraBOOST X and UltraBOOST Uncaged Parley feature laces, heel webbing, heel lining, and sock liner covers made from recycled PET material. Not only do the latest additions to the adidas Parley collection have a purpose, they also deliver the same elite performance with every stride.”

If you haven’t heard or read about Ultraboost yet, well, we can’t help you, but it does perform while looking killer. The Uncaged is the same in almost every category, and the UltraBoost X is specifically for women, designed with the floating arch technology (that the wifey loves!)

The shoes will release on May 10 in-store and online at adidas.com/Parley. Along with the shoe release, there will be a Runtastic-hosted adidas x Parley Run for the Oceans digital event taking place around World Oceans Day 2017 (June 5-11). Runners will be allowed to join the cause anywhere — streets, the beach, or wherever they happen to be during that week — and keep up with other runners at@adidasrunning on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook using #UltraBOOST#adidasParley. You already know how we feel about Boost, and UltraBoost — how about you? Will you be looking for these next month, whether to support the cause or to rock the fresh blue? Let us know below.
